Freshly renovated pool targeted again
The newly restored Reflecting Pool near the Lincoln Memorial was targeted by vandals, according to video and eyewitness reports. The damage was said to involve cutting out part of the blue sealant at the bottom of the pool, which helped give the water its clean, glasslike look after the renovation. So much for letting a public project stay nice for five minutes. President Trump’s team had only recently finished the work, after the pool had long suffered from leaking, sinking, and that lovely swampy mess no one wants near a national landmark.

Reporter says a man was detained after jumping in
Independent journalist Emily Miller said a man was arrested after jumping into the pool and cutting out a “huge piece” of the sealant. She also said she filmed a separate man being detained by Park Police after he grabbed a hose National Park Service workers were using to clear algae. If true, that is not exactly the behavior of people interested in preserving a national memorial. It is more like a field trip for people who think public property is their personal protest canvas.
Park Police investigate ‘86 47’ marking
Nick Sortor reported that United States Park Police were also investigating a separate inscription that read “86 47” on the sealant. The phrase was described as a threat meaning to eliminate or kill the 47th president. Authorities have also been looking into similar markings found in the grass on the National Mall last week, which triggered another Park Police investigation. No matter how the left tries to dress this up, vandalizing a historic site and leaving a threat behind is not activism. It is criminal behavior with a nasty little message attached.
