Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy didn’t hold back when addressing the vile anti-Semitic incident at his Philadelphia bar, where two individuals allegedly ordered a sign reading “Fuck the Jews” as part of a bottle service display.
In a fiery three-minute video posted to X, Portnoy—who is Jewish—expressed his raw fury, declaring, “I’ve been shaking, I’ve been so fucking mad for the last two hours.” He vowed retribution, warning, “I’m gonna fucking make it my life fucking mission to ruin these people, like, I’m coming for your throat. I’m never ending.”

Yet, in a striking pivot, Portnoy chose education over destruction. Rather than publicly doxxing the two 20-year-olds responsible—a move that would have aligned with the left’s preferred method of cancel culture—he opted for a more constructive punishment. “Rather than ruin a couple 20 year olds lives maybe this can be used as a teaching moment,” he tweeted hours later.
Instead of unleashing the internet mob, Portnoy arranged for the offenders to visit Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi death camp where over a million Jews were systematically murdered during the Holocaust.
“We’re gonna send these kids to Auschwitz and they’re gonna do a tour of the concentration camps in Germany and hopefully learn something,” Portnoy explained. “And maybe their lives aren’t ruined and they think twice, and more importantly other people see it’s not just words you’re throwing around.”
This measured response stands in stark contrast to how the liberal media typically handles such controversies. While outlets like The New York Times and CNN routinely amplify outrage and demand career-ending consequences for perceived slights—especially when they fit their political narrative—Portnoy took a different approach. Instead of feeding the outrage cycle, he turned the incident into an opportunity for growth, something the left claims to value but rarely practices.
Where was the media’s usual moral grandstanding? Silent, as usual, when the response doesn’t fit their preferred narrative of perpetual victimhood and public shaming. Portnoy’s handling of the situation exposes the hypocrisy of the left’s performative activism—where punishment is prioritized over redemption.
Do you think they deserve the opportunity? I think the pro-Hamas media have swept up so many with their propaganda that it was only a matter of time before their attacks would target the entire Jewish community. Do they deserve a second chance? I don’t know
UPDATE:
One of the college students that Dave identified as one of the two perpetrators has spat on that very generous offer and lawyered up:
Quick update. Mo Kahn is no longer taking any responsibility or involvement for the “Fuck the Jews” sign at Barstool Samson. His is basically lawyering up and blaming it all on his friend now and is saying he was just a citizen journalist. It is a 180 from my convo with him… pic.twitter.com/LGW4sVUhbz

I don’t think anyone expected that wild turn. Your boss is offering to send you overseas all expenses paid, to save your reputation, and this is how you respond?
