The TV show, “The View”, is known for its controversial and arguably detached viewpoints. The hosts, in the glare of the camera, often express their perspectives with a sense of self-importance that many find unappealing. Their debates frequently spark controversy, especially when they explore political subjects. Even their purportedly “conservative” co-host often fails to embody a true conservative viewpoint, as noted by several Republicans.
Recent Controversy on The View
Recently, the hosts provoked yet another heated argument while discussing former President Donald Trump. Co-host Joy Behar was particularly vocal during this debate, criticizing a recent move by Louisiana to display the Ten Commandments in public schools. She not only used this issue to criticise the former president but also managed to offend every Christian who supports Republicans.
From Daily Caller:
“The View” co-host Joy Behar suggested Thursday that people who vote for former President Donald Trump are not true Christians…“This guy has gone above and beyond, and yet these Christians, these so-called Christians, are gonna vote for him,” Behar said. “The children see this Ten Commandments in school and then they see their parents —”
“… It just seems ironic that he’s broken every law of every commandment and they think he’s the one to vote for. What is the matter with everybody?” Behar added.
Criticism of Displaying Ten Commandments in Public Schools
Behar continued her rant by criticizing Louisiana’s decision to put up the Ten Commandments in public schools. She leveraged this issue as a springboard to assail Donald Trump, revisiting past allegations about his relationship with Stormy Daniels.
Accusations of Christian Trump Supporters
She went on to rebuke Christians planning to vote for Trump, accusing them of renouncing their beliefs to back a purportedly “evil” man. Ironically, Behar herself is not a Christian but felt empowered to admonish Christians about their faith and political choices. This type of behavior is common among Democrats who, despite often being non-religious, assume a “holier than thou” stance.
Behar’s Hypocrisy
Critics contend that individuals like Behar are obscured by their contempt for Trump, failing to recognize their own hypocrisy. Despite chastising Trump for allegedly violating commandments, they ignore their own transgressions that may be broadcast daily on television.
If Behar believes her attacks will gain supporters, she might end up disappointed.
