MTG Firmly Responds to Liberal Reporter’s Questions in Noteworthy Exchange

In a tense exchange at the Republican National Convention (RNC), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) confronted Jo Crawford, a reporter from The Times of London, accusing the media of exacerbating divisions in America. This event occurred during the RNC where JD Vance (R-OH), Trump’s vice-presidential choice, is expected to share his life story and express the GOP’s connection with everyday Americans.

The Confrontation

Crawford questioned Greene about J.D. Vance’s recent comments in which he suggested that the United Kingdom could become the first “Islamist country” under its newly elected Labour government. Greene responded by pointing out accusations made by Democrats and Joe Biden against President Trump and his supporters, including claims of fascism and likening them to Hitler.

Greene’s Response

“This is the first time you’ve ever talked to me,” Greene told Crawford. She added that she was a regular person, a mother of three children who had to deal with an incredible amount of falsehoods due to what she termed as ‘little liars’ turning journalism into political activism.

Accusations Against The Media

“You’re the cause of our country being divided,” Greene asserted, accusingly pointing her finger at Crawford. “You’re the cause of President Trump almost being assassinated. You’re done. Yeah, go back,” she added, indicating that their conversation was over.

Vance as Vice Presidential Candidate

On Monday, via a Truth Social post, Trump unveiled Vance as his vice presidential pick, declaring him “best suited to assume the position of Vice President.” Despite having voted for independent candidate Evan McMullin during Trump’s initial campaign and considering himself a “never Trump guy,” Vance changed his stance when he started his Senate campaign and sought Trump’s endorsement. In 2021, he voiced regret over his past views and asked people not to judge him for being previously wrong about Trump.
