Biden Deviates from Prepared Remarks, Impact More Significant Than Anticipated

In his recent address to national union leaders at the AFL-CIO headquarters in DC, President Biden’s unscripted speech seemed disorganized and was met with little enthusiasm from the attendees. His attempts to connect with the audience came across as awkward and disjointed. In addition, he tried to shift blame for rising rents and food prices onto corporate greed, conveniently ignoring his own tax-and-spend policies that have contributed to these issues.

A Disorganised Speech

During this event, when Biden attempted to speak without a teleprompter, his words often turned into a chaotic ramble. His attempt to seem relatable by speaking about his humble background ended up being awkward and poorly executed. “You know, I come from a household with a three-bedroom – we weren’t poor, but we didn’t have anything left over at the end of the month and uh, you know, three-bedroom house, four kids, grandpop lived with us…” Biden declared. This lack of coherence is not unusual for him.

Biden further reminisced about his family life saying: “I look back now and wonder how my dad handled those thin walls,” which added to the general impression of an off-script commentary.

Shifting Blame

Adding insult to injury was Biden’s attempt to blame ‘corporate greed’ for skyrocketing rents and soaring food prices while sidestepping discussion on his own fiscal policies that may have directly affected these issues. “Food prices are still too high because of corporate greed. We’re in a situation where werrr uhh rents are too high!” said Biden.

This deflection away from self-reflection appears as an effort from Biden to demonize landlords and accuse grocers of ‘price gouging’.

Conclusion

From this event, it’s clear that Biden’s unassisted public speaking can often seem disorganized, and his attempts to shift blame do little to mask the potential negative impact of his own policies. It serves as a reminder of the challenges that currently face the leadership of our nation.
