Instead of a “yes” or “no,” Spanberger retreated into a cloud of bureaucratic jargon, proving once again that she is entirely out of touch with the common-sense values of Virginia’s parents and families. Her refusal to answer is a damning admission in itself, revealing a candidate who prioritizes a radical, out-of-touch ideology over the safety and privacy of young girls.
Spanberger’s response was a masterclass in political evasion, reminiscent of the incoherent word salads perfected by figures like Kamala Harris. She rambled, “In Virginia, we previously, until very recently, had a process in place where on an individual, one-by-one basis, schools, parents, principals, coaches, were making decisions based on fairness, competitiveness, and safety.” This convoluted non-answer does nothing to reassure parents who are rightfully concerned about who shares a locker room with their daughters. After meandering through her defense of a failed policy, Spanberger could only weakly offer that she thought that process was “working.” This is a blatant falsehood that stands in stark contrast to the experiences of parents and students across the Commonwealth. It is a clear signal that a Governor Spanberger would dismiss these valid concerns and allow biological males unrestricted access to girls’ most private facilities, all in the name of a progressive agenda that has been soundly rejected by the American people.
Unable to defend her extreme position, Spanberger then performed a desperate political pivot, abruptly changing the subject to attack her Republican opponent, Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears. “What you don’t see my opponent talking about is her plan to actually lower costs, to address the issues that I am hearing about everywhere I go from families, from parents,” Spanberger deflected. This is the classic tactic of a cornered politician: when you cannot answer for your own radical record, you smother the conversation in talk of other issues. Voters made their position on this issue resoundingly clear in the 2024 election, soundly rejecting the extreme gender ideology pushed by the left. Yet, as Spanberger’s evasions prove, Democrats have no intention of listening. If she were to win the governorship, she would undoubtedly ignore public sentiment and forge ahead with the left’s radical agenda, imposing policies that compromise the safety and fairness for Virginia’s daughters. The liberal media will continue to provide cover for these Democrats, refusing to press them on their unpopular positions while attacking common-sense conservatives like Winsome Earle-Sears who dare to speak plainly for parents.
