Former President Trump and VP Nominee JD Vance announced plans to address “bad policies” in a letter signed by 19 conservative groups. As exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, the letter urged a “course correction” for policies that have led the United States in the “wrong direction” under the Biden-Harris administration.
According to the letter, “the past four years on the wrong track have significantly diminished the United States’ global competitiveness.” The conservative groups are calling attention to policies that they claim are undermining “fundamental pillars of America’s historical strength,” such as economic freedom and property rights.
The letter also criticizes the current administration’s approach to government price controls and “overly restrictive” trade rules. The conservative groups argue that these policies not only interfere with business enterprises, but also hinder innovation and discourage economic growth.
While President Biden’s trade policies and Vice President Harris’ proposed price control plans have faced scrutiny, the letter praises former President Trump for his nomination of Howard Lutnick to be the next secretary of the Department of Commerce. Lutnick, the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, is a strong advocate for patent and intellectual property rights.

“The incoming Trump administration already seems to understand this,” the letter states, “as seen in President-elect Trump’s nomination of Howard Lutnick.” The groups commend Trump’s nomination and trust that it is a positive indication of a pro-patent and IP rights administration.
A Trump-Vance Transition spokesperson told the media that “the American people re-elected President Trump by a resounding margin giving him a mandate to implement the promises he made on the campaign trail.” They are confident that Trump will deliver on his promises to address the damaging policies put in place by the previous administration.
